Q1. My eyebrows need shaping. Should I pluck or should I wax?
Waxing should only be done professionally. Plucking your eyebrows enables you to control their shape better, and avoid being left with over-waxed, burnt or out-of-shape eyebrows.
Q2. How often should I care for my eyebrows?
Tend to your eyebrows only once a week. Over plucking often occurs when the brows are overgrown, consequently loosing the shape.
Q3. What type of tweezers should I use?
Use angled or pointed tweezers to remove the new hairs, as they are easier to use.
Q4. What should I do if I have sensitive or painful eyebrows/skin?
Use ice to numb if you have a sensitive skin. Alternatively you can use teething gel or an Aloe Vera cooling gel. Tiger Balm also helps relieve pain.
Q5. Should I use pencil or eye shadow powder to fill in brows?
Cheap pencils and mascara can make you look unnatural. It is easier to apply an eyeshadow powder with a brush. This smoothly colours the hair, not the skin underneath and, therefore, looks much more natural. Good pencils can be used, but require more experience.
Q6. Are there any contra-indications before waxing?
You should not wax for at least two weeks after using Retinol A, Glycolic Acid or Roacutane treatment. You should advise your eyebrow specialist if you have been using any of these products.
